Alpine Writers' Retreat with Bidisha
17 September 2010 Friday evening to Monday afternoon
Tickets: 350 GBP all inclusive
Structured and tailor-made retreats in The Alps.
Chalet La Giettaz is a secluded alpine escape, nestled at the foot of the Col des Aravis and overlooking a spectacular valley.
The Chalet consists of extremely spacious and comfortable apartments, fully-equipped with kingsize beds, TVs, DVD, wifi, and bathrobes and slippers for use in our spa facilities.
All guests on writing retreats will have - at the very least - a private, kingsize bedroom to themselves and will share a spacious apartment with no more than one other writer.
Transfers to and from Geneva airport, catering, accommodation and use of spa facilities are all included in the price.

Arriving on the Friday, you will be given time to settle in before enjoying a gourmet welcome meal and the chance to share what has brought you to La Giettaz with other guests.
The following morning, after the boulanger has delivered fresh pastries and bread to your apartment door, the group will convene in our private, on-site bar for workshops run by the acclaimed writer, critic and BBC broadcaster, Bidisha. She is also a judge of renowned literary competitions, including the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize for Literature and the Orange Prize for fiction. Afternoons are free for writers to work on their projects or to go hiking in the majestic surrounds.
Writers are also able to schedule one-to-one sessions with Bidisha and can send us up to 6000 words in advance of the retreat so that she can prepare comments.
The evenings consists of great food and wine and readings from either writers own work or that of their favourite authors.
