The Sunday Times EFG Private Bank Short Story Award is the world’s most valuable short story prize, offering £30,000 for a single short story. On Sunday 26 September the prize has sponsored a day-long series of events at Small Wonder, the short story festival at Charleston, Sussex, the rural retreat of the Bloomsbury artists and writers, which includes opportunities to:
- meet and hear authors AS Byatt, David Vann and Alexei Sayle
- debate the future of the short story with mathematician Marcus du Sautoy
- discuss the work of Janet Frame
- watch new plays by Craig Taylor
