Hi All
Joined today (full membership)and within 5 minutes have joined short story forum and children's fiction ... acceptance pending. Had a browse through the blogs and found someone called marcustrower. Immediately impressed by quality of copy-editing advice, particularly use of serial commas. Fantastic! Already trawling through my manuscript with a red pen. Wish I'd thought harder about my username though... realised too late that it can't be changed. Not called a newbie for nothing, I guess.

Welcome to WW, a.m.edge (I see what you mean about the username!).

I hope you find what you need from the forums and other areas (yes I know that should be fora, but I prefer forums). I enjoy this site and have found the members very helpful and willing to share information and advice.

Hi Annie! look forward to seeing you over in the Children's Group. There's so much that's useful on WW - glad you've found us

Well done, Freebird. I forgot I could click Annie's profile to find out her name!

Thanks you guys
Really excited about the children's fiction. Hope I'll be able to get on sometime over the weekend.

Hi a.m.edge, and welcome to WW! Brilliant that you've got stuck in so quickly and found useful things. My username isn't terribly original either, so I sympathise.

Emma

Hi Annie, I'm sure you'll love it here.

Annie??? Not Annie Edge late of the parish of that mad "creative writing tutor" (ha!) with severe psychological issues who shall be nameless??

I was Tara W on there, last year. Is it really you? I'll be totally delighted if it is!

  Re: Just joined... what I found in a 5 minute browse  a.m.edge at 22:53 on 19 January 2013

Well, if that's not a snowball from the past, I don't know what is!

Yes. It's me. New year; new forum!

Not really. I took time off because it got too intense on there, and I realised I wanted to focus on children's fiction.

I've just uploaded my first chapter of Frankie Feinstein and the Fenworld Thief-takers, if you'd care to take a look.

And be honest.

You know I can take it.

x

P.s. I'm glad it's you too

<Added>

Just realised you can't access it cos I'm in the children's fiction group. Or can you?

Hello Annie!

Welcome!

::waves madly::

No, I can't see your post in the Children's Fiction group, because you have (very sensibly, I think) made your settings "group members only".

Are you going to join one of the short story groups? I am a member of Short Story and Intensive Critique.

Hi Annie, and welcome to WW. Anyone can see a story in your archive via your profile if they want to, unless you've stipulated 'only me' in the 'who can view this' section.

Thanks for that last tip, Manusha, and Hi.
