The Visitors  Cornelia at 11:48 on 08 July 2008

I think it's well worth the trek out to the far end of Fulham Road to see 'The Visitors', a thoughful, slowly unfolding but always watchable story about an American academic drawn into the problems facing a couple of illegal immigrants.

Anybody else seen it? The theatre was pretty full last night which for a rainy Monday was quite impressive. Mind you, I think they were locals.

I was unimpressed by the bus drivers. The first one I asked could he let me know when we got to Beaufort Street because despite having an A-Z I couldn't see the street names. 'No!', so I had to take my chance of seeing the cinema when we passed it. For the return journey at least I knew where to get on but the driver looked puzzled when I asked about the tube station. 'Where is Sloane Square?' Admittedly he had a strong foreign accent. Maybe it was his first day on the job.
