BBC2 10pm Mon. New Sitcom Series: Rev
About a new inner city vicar who's surprised when his congregation doubles after the local CofE school gets an excellent ofsted report and it's up to him to decide who gets a place.
Some good lines.
Very promising.

I loved this!!! So refreshing and un-twee!

|
I'll have to give it a listen on BBC iplayer.

I thought it was dreadful. A pale imitation of 'Father Ted'. I failed to laugh even once!
|

|
I don't think it's even trying to imitate Father Ted. More like an inner city The Vicar of Dibley.

I find it by turns very funny and almost too embarrassing to watch! I keep coming back to it though.

I just found it cringingly awful, a great example of truly bad new BBC sit-coms.

Did anyone see the episode with the smoothie-making evangelists who decamped from Fulham? I swear I know that congregation. They're not even caricatures - they're straight portraits.

I never saw The Vicar of Dibley, so I thought this was quite original. It's that actor I love, who played the Rev. I think he's brilliant!

Cherys, yes I did and I'm quite willing to believe you're right!

Me too. Oooh, those puppy dog eyes.
And love the Bishop character (or is that Dean?) - not in a fancyable-way, just think he's so wonderfully awful. Anyway, brilliant.
