Yes, I noticed this this morning! Well done Jenn! That's brilliant! And she's going to be on the Culture Show! There's posh for you!

Well done, Jenn!

(Crikey, but there are lots of chips-on-shoulders in the comments section, eh??)

And how cool and gorgeous does she look! Well done Jenn!

Look forward to seeing you on the show, Jenn. Has it already been recorded?

Superbe, Jenn.

Ooh, excuse the French e

Thank you.

Yes Jem, it's already been recorded. I haven't seen it. They came up to Preston to film me for a bit teaching at the Uni where I work (well, one of them...) and reading a bit from the book. There was an interview with me sitting outside the building where I teach on a bench and it was January and absolutley freezing...
Then we all went to London and met each other and there was a bit more filming and questions with John Mullan. As there are twelve of us, I'm sure we'll all be on the telly for about two minutes each...

If you can look at the picture, see if you can guess which one of the writers couldn't be there and was represented by a big cardboard cut out...

Congratulations - what a great success!

Oh wow!!! What a fantastic accolade. So pleased for you Jenn

How brilliant about the cardboard cutout. Quite pleasing that in this digital age there is a still a place for Blue Peter style ingenuity.

My guess is the guy standing in the middle...

Re: WW`s Ladyblackbird is  EmmaD at 13:55 on 26 February 2011

Seconded that it's the guy in the middle - very flat-looking!

Are other newspapers' blogs as notoriously poinsonous as the Guardians? Or do I just think that because I read the Grauniad's more.

Tell you what, though, it's very nice to see a list like this which doesn't say "young" writers, but "new": age is irrelevant, after all, it's the newness of the voice that means they're interesting.

Jenn, wonderful news. You do look glam and that's a very catchy one-line sales pitch they've done about your book. Great stuff.

@ Emma D. Yes, I was just feeling all heart-warmed that the bookend blokes have grey-white hair. Maybe ageism is on its way out at last.
