The main character in the novel I'm working on is named Revan but I have been alerted to this:



Would this be in breach of copyright? Not exactly an iconic character, but would Mr Lucas sue me? It's not as if the MC is named Indiana Jones but am I best to change the name just in case?

Names, like Titles, cannot be copyrighted, so you should be fine.

Just to add, if the editor thinks it's a problem they'll simply ask you to change it.

Don't think I can afford as good a lawyer as George Lucas! But I'll only change it if I have to, I've grown rather attached to the name!
