Does anyone know where I could find out about those on active service on D-Day in WWII? I've got a list of names (7) but have only got an ID on one.

There's a national army database where you can look up surnames - the Army Museum might be able to help, or the Imperial War Museum?

Regimental museums tend to have good detailed lists. This post is a bit late so it may be that you have already gone down this route.
Good luck.
