    A French colleague asked me the adjective which comes from 'to bear a grudge'. In French 'rancunier'. She says her students often want to use this to describe themselves. What does that say about the français, I wonder.

    Perhaps it describes what the French respect in people. I say that because in Russian culture, there's a espect for the trickster who breaks the rules and gets away with things. There's a whole generation of children who want to become bandits when they grow up!!!
