Fish Contests - I`m gutted tiger_bright at 18:28 on 08 October 2008
Fish have just cancelled not only their Fish Knife Award (the crime category) but their Criminally Short Short Histories category for 2009. I had SIX entries lined up for these prizes. I can claim my entry fees back, or have the stories transferred to other categories (but they won't stand a chance because they were written to a different spec).
Not enough entries, apparently. I do understand that they need to maintain a standard so that winners can feel they've achieved something, but still.
To quote a writer chum who is similarly gutted: "Bum."

It seems such a pity - I thought the Fish Knife and the Criminally Short Short Histories were great competitions.
Sympathies, Tiger. I've just found (buried in an old email account, so thanks for alerting me!) an email from Clem Cairns to the same effect.
