  • Win the chance to read your short story at Latitude Festival
by NFTU at 12:58 on 12 May 2009
The new literature magazine Notes from the Underground is teaming up with the good people at Latitude Festival to offer new writers a very exciting opportunity. We are running a short story competition the winner of which gets to read their story in the Literary Arena of the Suffolk festival this July. The winner will of course as a performer be able to stick around at the festival and hang out with all of the movers and shakers that go with the territory of a performer's wristband. If you are looking for validation then look no further. The simple requirement is that you send in your short stories to Notes and that they are no longer than 2000 words and that you do so before 10:00am this July 1st. Notes from the Underground will then decide on a shortlist of three, with the winner to be announced on July 8th.

Latitude festival will take place July 16-19th in Henham Park, Suffolk, and with acts like Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Doves already confirmed along with writers such as Richard Milward and Danny Wallace in the Literary Arena, it really is a great opportunity to get your scribblings noticed. We don't need to tell you how prestigious this prize is, but will anyway. Look at Danny Wallace, his book got turned into a movie.

If you want to see who you'll be performing alongside at Latitude Festival then you can head over to the lineup page at the Latitide festival site: http://www.latitudefestival.co.uk/lineup/index.aspx

If you want to learn more about our magazine head to www.notesfromtheunderground.co.uk where you can read a bit about us and check out some of the short stories that we have published in the past.

Please send your stories with the subject line Latitude to info@notesfromtheunderground.co.uk

Thanks for your time and don't hesitate to ask us any questions about the competition.
