  • Leaf Books - New Publisher, New Competition
by EmmaD at 19:41 on 18 May 2005
Interesting competition listed in Jobs & Opps by the new publisher, Leaf, for stories AND non-fiction between 4,000 and 5,000 words. Winner and runners up get money, and publication as part of the Leaf series, in really nicely produced individual small books - rather like the old Penguin 60s, or the new 70th anniversary ones their producing - which will be sold through non-traditional outlets. The website is www.leafbooks.co.uk.

Must admit an interest here: I know the people involved through the MPhil in Writing at Glamorgan, and they're working to the same high literary standard that the MPhil does.

I see I've commited one of my own most scorn-inducing errors. I meant 'they're producing', not 'their'. Shame and sackcloth and ashes for me.

Interview with Leaf books coming soon, too, so people can find out a bit more.

Yes I read about this and got quite euphoric. I'll be giving it a go.
