Can you write a story on a postcard? It can be a flash fiction type story, or a non-fiction incident or event that meant something to you.
I work as a volunteer writer with Settle Stories, a charity in the UK that promotes storytelling and learning and organises a storytelling festival annually in Settle, North Yorkshire; this year from the 10th - 13th.
Settle Stories is teaming up this year with Katha Kosa, a professional story teller in India, for a 'Stories on a Postcard' Challenge.
The postcards will be displayed at the UK festival then sent to India to feature in an exhibition there - postcards from the UK will be linked with those from a similar event in India.
A range of at least 30 postcards (photographs of them) will be published in a book and a favourite (as decided jointly by the Director of Settle Stories, Sita Brand and Katha Kosa) will receive a free copy of the book.
Send your postcard, a maximum of 150mm x 120 mm or 6” x 4” , by the 15th September 2013 to:
Settle Stories,
Town Hall
Marketplace
Settle
North Yorkshire
BD24 9EJ
United Kingdom

There is also an oral storytelling competition you can enter, too. See the website for more details.
