Oh, I'm sure I've heard this festival broadcast on Radio 4 with a celebrity telling an anecdote - a comedian?

    Hi Jem

Yes, we were featured on Radio 4 recently, on the 'Today' programme, with John Humphrys interviewing Bill Mitchell about the WR Mitchell Archives (oral history archive of the lives of Dales men and women), which is managed by Settle Stories. Bill is one of life's natural comics, with a vast memory of the Dales people he has interviewed over the years, and the tales they told him.

On the programme Bill 'recalled' an apocryphal prudent Yorkshire woman who, at first denying her dying husband a candle by his bedside, relented on condition he blew it out before he expired!
