  • A million little pieces - James Frey

I've read about seventy pages of this in one sitting which is always a good sign.

James Frey seems to break every grammar rule going but it hasn't affected the story for me yet.

I wondered if anyone had read this and what they thought of it?

I thought it was terrific in parts and dragged in others. There's a pretty memorable dentist scene - have you reached it yet? I think I was partly impressed because when I read it I thought it was a memoir, so when the news came out about it being a very stretched kind of 'true story' I did feel annoyed, though I think it makes a good work of fiction.

Yes, just read the dentist scene. Might have to cancel that appointment in June now. Ugh!

I really like his use of present tense to make the tale harder hitting.

The media controversy hasn't bothered me as much as I already knew it was partly made-up.
