I've just started reading it and I think it's pretty damn excellent, I have to say. That P.D.James can write. Plus, about as bleak a vision as you can get. One chapter I just read was like a belly blow, left me winded. Very cleverly done too, because she led up to it very sneakily, introducing the character and the setting. Anyhow, so far, so good.
