Just to let new members know what this is about…

Random Line Generator is a monthly bit of fun we started in January. On the first of each month someone comes up with an opening line and we use it as a starter.

Anyone can join in. It can be a short story, a poem, a play, even non-fiction (that would be a challenge!) There is no word limit, although there is a tendency to go for shorter rather than long. The only rule is that it has to start with the opening line.

And there is no time limit. Anyone can, at any time, write a piece with any of these earlier months’ lines. Just precede your title with RLG1/RLG2 or whatever.

Jan – (Dee) As she opened the car door she changed her mind.

Feb – (Jumbo) If the parrot hadn’t died at that exact moment, I think we would have been all right.

Mar – (Words’worth) For sixty years it had remained - buried deep in this ageless earth.

Apr – (tinyclanger) Outside, the bone of the moon glows, but within, we lie, destroyed in the dark.

We already have candidates lined up to supply lines for the rest of the year. December will be a killer – we are going to attempt to write something using all the previous eleven lines in the same order… are we mad or what…

Join in the fun. We are very gentle with each other on RLGs.

    Dee.

Thanks for that, Dee. I'll save the ones I missed for later though!

Dee, you forgot Colin's May RLG (how could you forget Colin's?)
    er.......I forgot Colin's!
Something about a beam and Jenny....
Oh, someone must remember it - Colin?

Hi Jumbs! How come you only come out once a month?
And no poetry for ages, you'll be losing that hard won 5.75 rating (or whatever it was)

Have we heard from Sue? Is she ready for the off? Has she left the country?

Oh, I HOPE it doesn't rhyme
Sue, you can have unlimited access to Patrick for the month if it doesn't rhyme....and he's specially frisky today 'cos Huddersfield won the play off Final.
