  • Revival of the Random Story Generator [RSG1]
by blackdove at 13:35 on 05 December 2005
Having scanned through the previous messages in the writing exercises forum, I thought maybe people would like to get the RLG / RPG thing going again. From what I can gather, this works by someone posting a random sentence, which must be the first line of the piece. You can submit a poem, prose, whatever. It used to be done monthly, but how about we try it weekly or fortnightly? Any takers?

Being optimistic, and just in case there are takers, here's my suggestion for the first RSG:

    I was a child murderer.[.b]

Incidentally, this is the first line from a book, Expensive People - Joyce Carol Oates, although I am not familiar with it.

How this works: Upload your work, in whatever form it takes, putting RSG1 in the title. Post here any thoughts, or to let others know you've uploaded work.

Seeing as I started this thread, it'd be rude not to upload my effort first.. so here it is. Any comments welcome.
